Today, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, RosGeo and the Government of Novgorod region signed an agreement on cooperation within the framework of geological exploration for solid minerals and underground waters on the territory of the region. On behalf of the holding the document was signed by Sergey Gorkov, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Rosgeo, from Novgorod region - Andrey Nikitin, the Governor.

The Agreement establishes the basis for cooperation between the parties in establishment and conduct of survey and assessment activities with a view to increasing the economic potential of the region through development and reproduction of its mineral and raw material base.

The Government of Novgorod region intends to provide RosGeo with the support in obtaining the necessary permits and approvals, including the permits for use of forests and special water use.

“A constructive dialogue with the authorities will help us to optimize the process of coordination of project documentation, - said S. Gorkov. We are also conducting such works in other regions, so that all surveys by the state order to be carried out within the time limits specified in the technical specifications. Our cooperation with the Government of Novgorod region will also be aimed at intensification of geological exploration in the region, attracting investments in such projects. The region is rich common minerals: peat, brown coal, refractory and building with clay, bauxite, mineral and radon springs. At the same time we see that it is not sufficiently studied in geological terms. There are all prerequisites for making significant new discoveries."
