RosGeo and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) declared on an agreement for establishment of an investment fund in the purposes of venture funding of the geological explorations and surveys.

The appropriate documents have been signed today at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

In the framework of the achieved agreements RosGeo and RDIF also plan to study the opportunities for implementation of an investment project on establishment of a science-intensive cluster of advanced geological exploration studies GeoLab on the basis of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) with involvement of subject-matter experts from leading Russian universities. The platform will enable the geological Big Data to be collected, simulated, stored, processed, and analyzed.

Sergey Gorkov, Director General, Chairman of the Board of RosGeo, noted: “Creation of functional incentives to attract the funding to the industry is one of our top priorities. I am sure the arrangements made and recorded today will create an effective tool to address it. We are glad we have found the understanding on this issue with RDIF and have acquired such a serious partner in this project".
Kirill Dmitriev, General Director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said: “The partnership with RosGeo "that we're declaring today will provide a greater access to funding for companies by attracting the private investments. In the frameworks of our efforts to support the development of digital technology and processing of large data RDIF also sees the project of GeoLab as promising, which will allow to disseminate the achievements of advanced data processing technology for the geological exploration."
