In the framework of the two-day working visit to Nur-Sultan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sergei Gorkov, General Director General - Chairman of the Board of RosGeo holds a business meeting with Askar Mamin, the Prime Minister of the Republic . They discussed the opportunities for expanding the cooperation in the field of geological prospecting and exploration of mineral resources both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.

During the visit Sergey Gorkov also held the negotiations with the management of NK KazMunayGas regarding the promising areas of joint activities in the oil and gas sector. These negotiations resulted in signature with Kazakh partners of a Memorandum of understanding that stipulates the further cooperation in the field of geological exploration of subsurface oil and gas, as well as joint working contacts between the parties with the aim of elaborating and improving the technologies for prospecting, exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources and ensuring environmental safety of the subsurface management.

A significant event in the framework of the visit became the signature of a cooperation agreement between RosGeo and National Geological Prospecting Company Kazgeologiya. It has been endorsed by the Head of the Russian holding Sergei Gor'kov and Chairman of the board of Kazgeologiya Almaz Abdygalimov. Under this agreement the parties will establish a joint working group to analyze the geological information and to select the subsurface areas that are prospective in terms of discovery of ore deposits.

The fields of primary interest include Alakhin deposit of rare metals, chromium and pyrite-polymetallic ore deposits in Aktyubinsk region and gold ore development in Aktyubinsk and Kostanay regions, South Ural ore-promising region, Mountain-Altai mineralogical region.

“We see broad opportunities for cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in the area of geological survey, - said S.Gorkov. - I think the cooperation between the companies will be beneficial for both countries and give new impetus to development of border areas."

In addition, the delegation of RosGeol took part in the 3-rd annual Kazakhstan round table on global investments.
