RosGeo and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan signed an agreement on joint geological and geophysical operations for hydrocarbons and solid minerals, research and educational activities in the region. The document was signed today in the margins of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Sergei Gorkov, Director General - Chairman of the Board of RosGeo and Rustam Minikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The parties are interested in increasing the economic potential of the region through the reproduction of mineral and raw materials base, implementation of federal and regional state programs, environment protection, rational nature management, improvement of normative legal regulation of relations in the sphere of subsurface management.

The partners will consider the opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of forecasting, prospecting, exploration and integrated development of mineral deposits, comprehensive analysis, processing, interpretation of geological and geophysical data and monitoring of subsurface conditions, training and qualification enhancement of the specialists for the geological exploration industry.

“Tatarstan is one of the most important and oldest oil production centers in the country," - noted S. Gorkov. – The region is particularly concerned with unconventional and hard-to-extract hydrocarbon resources. This is the area that will be one of RosGeo priorities in terms of technology development".
