Rosgeo and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia have made an Agreement of Cooperation in the field of comprehensive geological subsoil study and exploitation, reproduction and development of the regional mineral resource base, within the Eastern Economic Forum, today.

Sergey Gorkov, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Rosgeo, and Alexey Tsydenov, Head of the Republic, signed this document.

The new five-year Agreement focuses mainly on the development and enhancement of the cooperation between Rosgeo and Republic of Buryatia as part of the agreement of cooperation made in 2012. The priority areas for joint operation are to implement federal and regional public programmes on reproduction of the mineral resource base in the Region; forecasting, prospecting, exploration and development of mineral deposits using the advanced methods and technologies of geological exploration; efficient and sustainable use of natural resources, environmental conservation; national monitoring of the subsurface condition, as well as professional training and skill maintenance of the geology industry experts based on educational institutions of the Republic of Buryatia.

Rosgeo is currently engaged in the geological explorations in Buryatia within the framework of public contracts on prospecting for gold and uranium deposits with a total value of about 500 mln Rubles. The work is performed by the Holding subsidiaries – Sibirskoye PGO and Urangeo.
